PIR insulation board has a closed cell structure which makes it highly resistant to moisture, allowing the thermal and structural performance of the material to remain in good order over time. Despite every measure taken to reduce moisture intake, PIR Board is not totally waterproof. If you leave PIR insulation exposed to water for a period of more than 30 days, there can be permanent damage to its insulating properties. If you have a leaking roof or wall and the PIR board is exposed for shorter than 30 days, simply wipe the board and allow it to air dry.
